16'' Naval Gun
The 16"/50 caliber Mark 7 gun served as the main armament of Iowa-class battleships. In service from 1943 to1992, the gun was housed in three-gun turrets. Each barrel could be elevated and fired independently. The guns had a maximum range of 24 miles and each turret required a crew of 79 men for operation.
