Gift in Memory of Clair Cline, 2012.391
Clair Cline used scavenged wood from bed slats, table legs, and aid cartons, and makeshift tools like broken glass and table knives to make this violin while a POW in Stalag Luft I. It took Cline four months to finish his masterpiece, but before Christmas Eve 1944, he had enough time left to practice for a short Christmas concert for his barracks.
