The M-1941 Jacket was one of the worst failures of American equipment during World War II. The wool lining of the jacket made it hot to wear in summer conditions, but the jacket was too thin to provide any sort of protection against cold weather. In addition, the pockets were too small to be of any use and the jacket's light color meant that it quickly faded to an almost white tan color when exposed to sunlight.
