Gift of the family of Laurent A. Charbonnet, 2000.192.001
The M-1943 Jacket was an improvement over the M-1941 in almost every way. Additional enlarged pockets allowed soldiers to carry more, and the jacket was darkened to prevent the fading that was common with earlier uniforms. The wool liner was removed, making the jacket far more comfortable in summer conditions, while additional layers of fabric helped to limit some of the effects of cold wind. This jacket was worn by Army Captain Laurent Arthur Charbonnet.
