Personalized N-1 Deck Jacket

The Navy N-1 Deck Jacket was made of a dense canvas shell with an alpaca lining, resulting in a warm, windproof garment. It was very popular among sailors, who frequently decorated their jackets in a similar fashion to Army Air Forces bomber crews. This N-1 was worn by Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Antonio Guevara, Jr., who painted an image of his submarine, the USS Jallao (SS-368) on the back.
