James Carrington Collection: US M1911A1 .45 Semi-Automatic Pistol

The M1911A1 was the standard sidearm in the US Military during World War II. This particular pistol was captured by the Japanese in 1942 during the fall of the Philippines. Carrington recaptured the weapon in 1944 when he retrieved from a dead Japanese officer.
