Dudley Morton's Condolence Certificate

Contact was lost with Dudley "Mush" Morton's Wahoo on October 11, 1943. His boat's fate would not be known until after war, when research into Japanese records revealed that the Wahoo was sunk by an air attack. Morton was officially declared dead in January 1946. Like thousands of other grieving widows, Harriet Morton received this certificate offering President Truman's condolences and gratitude for "Mush" Morton's sacrifice.
