M-1 Helmet Cover and Helmet

The M1 helmet served as the standard helmet for the United States military starting in 1941. Unique to the Marine Corps was a distinctive camouflaged helmet cover introduced in 1943 to help Marines blend in to their environments. The covers were reversible, with a tan and brown side useful for beaches and arid environments while the other was green and brown and was used in jungle settings.
