Jasper Love served aboard the Destroyer Escort USS William Seiverling DE-441. The Seiverling conducted anti-submarine patrols in the central Pacific, participated in the Okinawa Campaign and was present in Tokyo Bay for the Japanese surrender. This foul weather jacket was used by various members of Seiverling's crew while they stood watch on the twin 40 MM gun mount.
