"Lt. Colonel George Evashwick, a surgeon assigned to headquarters 2nd Regiment, 1st Special Service Force, was part of the assault force in the Kiska invasion. Evashwick was with the 1st Special Service Force from its formation until it was disbanded. When Evashwick returned to the states he was assigned to a medical facility that fell under the command of the Manhattan District."
