Manhattan Project Patch

The National WWII Museum

This is the insignia of the 3,500 Army personnel assigned to the Manhattan Engineering District. The blue field represents the universe and the small Army Service Force Star signifies the command. A white question mark indicates the secrecy of the project. The tail of the question mark forms a lightening strike splitting an atom.
